SLIMLINE FRAME

Characteristic of the 20th century modern movement were its efforts to reconcile the principles underlying architectural design with rapid technological advancement and the modernization of society.

Pioneer architects and engineers that have formed and developed modernism’s movement included Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius, Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, Arne Jacobsen and Oscar Niemeyer.

“Holy Book” of modernism is considered to be “Les 5 Points d' une architecture nouvelle” (The 5 Points of New Architecture), which Le Corbusier finally formulated in 1926 and included:

  1.  1. The pilotis, elevating the mass off the ground
  2.  2. The free plan, achieved through the separation of the load-bearing columns from the walls subdividing the space
  3.  3. The free facade, the corollary of the free plan in the vertical plane
  4.  4. The long horizontal sliding window
  5.  5. The roof garden, restoring - supposedly - the area of ground covered by the house

We have worked on evolving and implementing the fourth principle of Le Corbusier, the long horizontal sliding window. This effort of ours delivered SLIMLINE FRAME with 95% of the structure being glass thus contributing to Window’s Minimalism!
